Certification Requirements

To qualify for certification, candidates must:

  1. Attend a live Academy seminar (virtual or in-person).

  2. Complete all instructional modules and guided case exercises.

  3. Pass the Academy’s written and practical assessments.

  4. Uphold professional and ethical standards consistent with medical-legal practice.

Successful candidates will receive:

  • A Certificate of Achievement (framed, seal embossed).

  • Digital credential badges for professional websites, social media, and marketing.

  • Listing in the Academy Directory of Certified Providers, searchable by attorneys nationwide.

Certification Pathways

1. Certified Personal Injury Examiner (CPIE)

Designed for healthcare professionals who wish to elevate their skills beyond standard Medicare exam protocols. CPIE certification affirms that the provider:

  • Has completed live seminar training through the Academy.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in ePROs (Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes).

  • Administers and interprets Trauma Inventories across 12 functional domains.

  • Converts clinical findings into Whole Person Impairment Ratings (WPI).

  • Produces legally admissible demand reports through Examiner360™.

2. Certified Injury Claim Auditor (CICA)

The Academy’s highest level of distinction. CICA certification expands upon CPIE by adding:

  • Forensic injury documentation skills that withstand evidentiary challenges.

  • Competence in translating overlooked
    medical data into admissible economic value.

  • Expertise in generating full claim audits, rebuttals, and case-strengthening reports.

  • Proven ability to integrate medical findings into legal arguments under FRE 701–702.

Mission and Certification Tiers

The Academy of Injury Claim Auditors was established to set the highest professional standards for injury claim examination, valuation and clinical forensic documentation. The Academy offers two certification tiers that provide a clear pathway of professional advancement.

Certification Tier #1 -
Certified Personal Injury Examiner (CPIE)

Credential awarded upon completion of Academy training and successful examination in:

  • Injury Model Exam (1191M) protocols

  • Trauma inventory documentation

  • Whole Person Impairment ratings

  • Examiner360™ system proficiency

  • Legal sufficiency standards for admissibility

Certification Tier #2 -
Certified Injury Claim Auditor (CICA)

The Certified Injury Claim Auditor (CICA) credential represents the Academy’s highest level of professional distinction. Building upon the foundation of CPIE, this designation advances into the realm of clinical forensic economics and court-ready audit leadership.
 

CICA certification requires mastery of:

  • Clinical Forensic Economic Assessments: Quantifying loss of function, loss of services , applying federal expectancy data to present value.

  • Structured Decision-Making: Using validated methodologies to guide complex claim analysis.

  • Audit Authority: Independent audit and validation of injury claims using objective, reproducible standards.

  • Admissibility Leadership: Producing documentation that withstands the strictest evidentiary scrutiny under tort reform.
     

This credential identifies its holder as a leader in forensic injury claim auditing — equipped to meet the highest professional and legal standards in the industry.

Registration Details

For too long, injury claims have been undervalued due to gaps between medical documentation and legal requirements. The Academy of Injury Claim Auditors closes that gap—by training a new class of certified professionals.

  • Enrollment is Limited.

  • Live CEU seminars will be hosted in multiple U.S. cities beginning October 2025.

The Academy operates under recognized certification practices, with CEU endorsement from Northeast College of Health Sciences,  a nationally respected health sciences institution.

  • The certification is valid without time limit.

  • Graduates are encouraged to attend the online post-graduate continuing education online courses and maintain compliance with Academy standards.

  • Providers must remain active in the practice of personal injury evaluation or claim auditing.

Certification Validity & Renewal

  • Class size is strictly limited to ensure individualized training.

  • Registration for the 2026 Certification Track will close May 2nd, 2026.

  • Late applications may be considered only if space allows.

To earn the CICA credential, candidates must:

1 - Attend the Full One-Day Live Seminar

A CEU-accredited tutorial limited to registered participants.​

Demonstrating competency in both clinical and legal documentation.

3 - Pass the Academy’s Assessment
2 - Complete Course Modules

Including forensic injury documentation, trauma inventory analysis, and legal admissibility training

To receive the CPIE and CICA certification, certificate of recognition, and digital badge, score must be 80% or higher.
